Tivoli and its Villas Guided Tour
Visit Tivoli, an ancient resort area famed for its beauty and its good water, enriched by many Roman villas, the most famous one, of which the ruins remain, is Villa Adriana. Take a comfortable transport to the little town of Tivoli, located few miles far Rome, in a splendid natural environment between the Eternal city and the high hills to the east of Rome. The most remarkable architectural complex is Villa Adriana, dating from the Ancient Roman time, created in the 2nd Century A.D. by the Emperor Hadrian. It combines different architectural styles from Egypt, Rome and Athens, in the shape of an “ideal City”. A visit to the Villa cannot be missed: is a masterpiece that uniquely brings together the highest symbols of cultures of the world in ancient times. Then you will discover the Renaissance-style Villa d’Este, a gorgeous palatial setting surrounded by a spectacular terraced garden. Enjoy the beauty of its cascades, water tanks, and fountains. Villa d’Este is a masterpiece of the ltalian Gardens, decorated with a massive and impressive number of fountains nymphes, grottos and fountains, inspired by the gardens of Babylon, one of the wonders of ancient world. Return to Rome in the afternoon.

Staff were helpful and friendly. Tour left on time. Overall the tour met our expectations. Given some free time at Villa d’Estes at the end which was nice. Professional and approachable tour guides.

We booked our morning trip to Tivoli. They picked us up from the apartment and dropped us nearby on our return. Although the transfer from shuttle bus to coach was a little chaotic, we cannot fault the rest of the tour which embraced Villa Adriana and Villa d’Este. The guides were excellent and multi-lingual – the tour was in English, French, Spanish and German. A little expensive but it saved the hassle of getting there by public transport. Ask for a discount if RHA guests.

We had a great tour guide who shared his expert knowledge of the two sites and asked questions to keep the group engaged and interested. He showed us all of the rooms in the Villa d’Este. At Hadrian’s Villa he pointed out all of the sites and their possible uses and talked with some archaeologists present about recent findings. Perfect!

My husband and I had a very good experience for the Tivoli tour. We visited Hadrian’s Villa and Villa d’Este. The tour guides were knowledge and interesting. Hadrian’s Villa was huge and Villa d’Este was magnificent. The gardens and fountains were amazing. Again, Carrani provided an excellent tour. Recommended!
